![]() If it boggs down when you spray an area, it has a leak there. You can find leaks by spraying carb cleaner around the area and listen for changes in the idle of the engine. If you don't have a leak from your vacuum hoses, then you may have a leak around the base of the carburator or the intake manifold at the engine. The vacuum line routing diagram is not very intuitive. Before you remove any hose to inspect or replace it, mark where it goes. ![]() If the hose is old and cracked it will suck air, if it has a loose seal on the end it will leak. There are quite a few of them, check them all. ![]() Check all of your vacuum lines and make sure that they are connected. ![]() If it has a vacuum leak, cleaning the carb probably won't fix it.
